HOW TO BE AN AUTHENTIC ENTREPRENEUR

The Importance of Being an Authentic Entrepreneur in Business

The importance of being an authentic entrepreneur in business is not just that we bring value to our clients. By being open about our personal story we can make a big impact and this also contributes to our own success. Through sharing we inspire those that come into contact with our message, it’s powerful!

As Entrepreneurs, our story can strengthen our ability to attract ideal clients. It is one of the best ways to market ourselves and our brand.

I always encourage my clients to include vulnerability to create credibility in their story. It is a great place to start building the roots of our business.

Author Brené Brown, Ph.D, LMSW wrote in her book Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent and Lead. It shares how being honest about who we are and sharing our lows is empowering for everyone.

“Vulnerability is the core, the heart, the centre, of meaningful human experiences.” - Brene Brown

Why Authenticity is Important

The reason why authenticity is important is, it combines our history and story which includes the hard times. We all have them it makes us who we are and is part of the force driving us in our pursuit of happiness and success. Our life journey and its cruces set the scene for who we become and get us to our moments of epiphany. We create a truly magnetic message when we share something authentic and real.

Presenting ourselves vulnerably through our story provides credibility and builds trust. Your clients will relate to you when you demonstrate integrity, along with openly showing how you achieved your results. This can have the effect of turning our clients into our biggest fans. They can play a big part in increasing our credibility!

Vulnerability can be so powerful, the message Brene Brown shares in her famous TED Talk.

How I added more of my true self into my business

It took time for me to show up as my true self within my business comfortably. In the past I’d wondered, is it appropriate to share, do people really need to know? Will it lower my credibility? Is it beneficial to be that open? I went through a long period of apprehension; I cannot tell you how difficult it was to break it.

Due to my dyslexia (Neurodiversity), I had gone through lots of apprehension and many rejections. Breaking through the belief that this was a barrier was extremely difficult, but I started to open up with clients and family, changing my old thinking. What drove me was a desire, to be honest with myself and the world around me. I wanted to be a source of inspiration to those needing it, to help them understand that vulnerability can be terrifying but they don’t need to refrain. We are all enough!

An Authentic Entrepreneur with Vulnerabilities Builds Success

Being an authentic entrepreneur and expressing my vulnerabilities is a big part of my success and what helped me become an award-winning Business Strategy Coach. I have learnt how to share this information with my clients in a simple way, combining tools for them to implement it.
